Brief Hiatus

I have taken a bit of a break from blogging to enjoy the summer. It's such a short season up here that I don't want to miss one second of it! Don't ask why I wasn't blogging while the summer disappeared last week when the high temps were in the low 60's.
We've been having lots of fun. Been hanging out on the lake at my parent's house. The girls LOVE the water!

Steph and Addie came up last week for a visit. The girls had so much fun together. I love when they have a friend around. Nora was so excited when they got here that she was literally jumping up & down for the first hour of their visit! Steph & I were able to sneak in a movie after the girls went to bed. We saw The Proposal. It's sweet & laugh-out-loud funny! I sure wish that we lived closer so we could see each other more often.


Went out with our friends to celebrate Allen's 27th birthday. We had fondue, sushi & fun drinks at Blackwater We were going to go see Away We Go but missed the start of the movie so we ended up seeing The Proposal (yep! two times in a week for this girl!)
Al is on his third week of the new job. He really likes it and we are LOVING this new schedule! Every weekend off!!
Lots of stuff coming up. Next weekend is Fishermen's Weekend/the church softball tourney in Grand Marais. We'll be loading up the kids to spend the weekend in a small motel room, watch lots of softball and hang out with lots of our friends. The annual Preston Family reunion is in a few weeks at Lake Harriet in the cities. And I think we might try to take the girlies to the State Fair at the end of August for the first time. I know they would LOVE all the animals and the world's famous cookies but not sure what they would think of the crowds.
And I am still, but not diligently, working on my Honest Scrap post. It's coming soon, I promise!
