Our Fifth Anniversary

**UPDATE**
Our night out was a blast! We had an excellent meal. Eagle Eye is a super great movie. We were able to hang out at Barnes and read together peacefully and make a kid free Walmart run. (I am mainly a Target girl but we closed Barnes down and WallyWorld was the only store open :))
As for the gifts. Allen got me an assortment of chocolate covered strawberries on...wait for it... wood sticks! So sweet! Literally and figuratively :) I went right to the source and got him a bag of wood. In the card I told him it was for a late night fire in our pit in the backyard with hot cocoa and me! I also got him a little wooden tic-tac-toe game board. With X's and O's. Cute, huh? Here are some pics from our evening.

Dressed Up

Still In Love

Still Goofy

In Our Comfies (doing Allen's Baby Mama Whoo Whoo! thing)

Yum!

Five years ago today I married the most incredible man! It was the single-most fun day of my life! Our Pastor Duncan told us that the energy during the ceremony was combustible! I had leaned in for the kiss so many times during his benediction that when he announced us he said "And you better kiss her now!" Our reception was all fally and gorgeous and we danced the night away! All night on the dance floor with all of our guests! It was so, so, so, so fabulous!

You may kiss the bride!

Our 1st Anniversary

Gift ~ Paper
I got Allen the Home Depot How To Fix Things book since we had just bought our house
He printed me a picture of the anniversary ring he had bought me
(I felt like he was gipped that year!)

Our 2nd Anniversary ~ pregnant with Allen Michael

Gift ~ Cotton
I got Allen all brand new socks - dress socks, athletic socks, short socks, outdoorsy socks - so fun and cottony
He got me the comfy maternity sweaties & hoodie that I had wanted

Our 3rd Anniversary ~ pregnant with Nora Ileigh

Gift ~ Leather
I got Allen Bearpaw leather slippers
He deviated from the "anniversary gift giving list" that year but really outdid himself. He had a replica of my wedding bouquet sent to me at work, had a mini replica of our wedding cake made, and got us the same hotel suite that we had stayed in on our wedding night. Say it with me - aaaawwwwwwwwwwwww!

Our 4th Anniversary ~ pregnant with Joliana Isabel

Gift ~ Flowers & Fruit
I thought I was being so creative because I got Allen a Rocky Mountain caramel apple, thinking he would for sure just do the flowers. He did send flowers to me at work, had another bouquet for me at home but the coup de gras was he made me a banana cream pie from scratch. Again, aaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Now ~ not pregnant! YAY!

Gift ~ Wood
But we haven't exchanged gifts yet! Auntie Jori & Unkie Chad are coming over to babysit the girls and Allen & I are getting dressed up and going out to eat at Le Bistro, then changing into comfies and going to go see Eagle Eye and then finishing out the evening with one of our pre-baby fave dates and going to Caribou to have coffee and play cards! YAY! I am so excited for tonight!

**Allen Matthew, I love you. You are my best friend. You are a beyond excellent husband, father, provider, and friend. So funny. So sweet. So caring. I don't know what God was thinking when he introduced us at the top of the hill that sunny Sunday at Trout Lake Camp. Program staff 20 year old me and MAT 15 (4 days away from 16) year old you. He is funny too. And good, very, very good! You are one of my four biggest blessings and I wouldn't have the other three without you. I am looking forward to the next five years. And the decades of years after those. xoxoxoxox! Me**
