Summertime & The Living Is BUSY!

So I've not been much for updating lately but we've been busy. Busy traveling, enjoying the summer weather (Well, not today. Brrrr! Cold & rainy - but the perfect day for the two hour nap the girls & I took this afternoon.) and just general day-to-day living.
Memorial day weekend we traveled to the cities. We went to the Como Zoo with Jori & Chad as soon as we got into town. The girls did amazingly well as they had only slept about 20 minutes in the car on the trip down. They loved the animals. Well, Nora loved all of them. Of course, Joli was choosey about what she liked ~ loved the giraffes, HATED the flamingos. Weirdo! We met our friends Steph & Brandt and their daughter Addie at the hotel for swimming and dinner. Nora & Addie had a blast in the pool. Joliana screamed :) The girls slept wonderfully in the hotel. Since we are often putting them to bed at different friends houses so we can hang out late they have gotten used to sleeping in their pack-n-plays in new places. I also give a lot of credit to the consistency of having their white noise machine & special blankeys & babies that they sleep with. Don't leave home without them - and if we do we might as well head back home :) Saturday we went to our friend Jen's college graduation open house party. Again the girls were fantastic! It was a great party and we were able to stay a bit later than the other guests which was a good time. To see pics from the weekend click here.
This past week we spent a lot of time outside.
Grammie Mar-Bear bought the girls a water table and they love it! I got them each a Barbie doll at a garage sale to play with in the water and Nora is soooo funny. She talks for them in a high pitched (yes, even higher than normal) voice as she sends them down the water slide. "It's my turn! It's my turn!" I'll try to get video of it b/c it's GREAT! We had a bbq on Thursday night w/ the Benney's, Watczak's & Weimer's. We had yummy food and great weather!


Later the Shaner's, Johnson/Jensen's & Gookins/Houston's came over to hang out. Nora did not want to miss out on anything, so we let her stay up late. She LOVED being outside, with the boys, in her ballerina nightgown while the "mooooon" was out. Hit up some fun garage sales this weekend. Got the girls a Little Tikes coupe car for 4 bucks! Need to teach Joli how to get into the car using the door. Right now she tries to get in head first through the window space!
This week should be fun. It's my bday week. The big 31 on Wednesday. I told Allen I wanted a surprise party on Thursday night. It's a kinda joke b/c we always have peeps over on Thursdays. But maybe there will be a cake!
